Thermal imaging is an unobtrusive way of looking at electrical connections and wiring without removing or isolating circuits by removal of fuses or disconnection of switchgear, as required by a fixed wire inspection and test.

Loose connections can contribute to high energy consumption and/or poor energy quality. In more severe circumstances loose connections can cause power outages or localised fire, damaging valuable equipment and creating unscheduled down time.

Thermal imaging does exactly what it says, it takes a thermal picture of your equipment or wiring showing whether overheating is occurring. You will decide on which parts of the installation you require testing with the help and advice of a BPD technician. The results will be presented in a document showing any problems found.

If you require it we can follow up the results with a visit from a BPD electrical engineer to discuss how best to deal with the problems outlined in the report. Quotations and timescales can be provided for any work outlined.

It is important to note that thermal imaging is not a substitute for fixed wire electrical testing. We would think of it as complimenting the fixed wire electrical testing as it is a form of visual inspection. Click on the link to read more about electrical testing.
